Welcome to VINKA | Coffee Farm & Lab

Our Treasure Is The Land

About Us

More Than a Farm: A Living Laboratory for Specialty Coffee

We are VINKA, a specialty coffee farm and lab nestled alongside Ecuador's Podocarpus National Park. Founded by Dr. Mafer Cabrera (Ecology & Biodiversity) and Dr. Carlos Iñiguez (Natural Resources), university researchers & professors who chose to return to the land.

Here, where morning mist embraces the fertile Andes soil, we grow exceptional coffee by uniting ancestral wisdom with scientific precision.

Every step, from soil health to fermentation, is guided by rigorous research and respect for natural cycles. Our coffee is born from this union: tradition that breathes, science that guides, and quality you can taste in every cup.

STORY

The Legend of the Living Treasure

Legend tells that when the last Inca emperor fell, messengers hid his gold ransom in the Andes, marked by a mysterious stone mask. Generations searched for that treasure, digging into the earth, hoping to find riches.

But the real treasure was never buried. It was always here, in the soil that breathes, the water that flows, and the biodiversity that thrives.

At VINKA, we don't extract from the land. We regenerate it. Through syntropic agriculture, degraded pasture has become a thriving ecosystem where coffee grows alongside native trees, soil rich with microbial life, and the landscape strengthens with every season.

Every bean is an invitation to share this living treasure, one that blooms in the earth and awakens in every cup.

This is the treasure we protect. Not gold, but life itself.

Taste The Treasure
  • Living Soil

We grow coffee as part of a living system through syntropic agriculture. Coffee plants thrive alongside native forest, healthy soil, and thriving biodiversity, strengthening the ecosystem and allowing the land to regenerate over time.

  • Scientific Precision

We observe, measure, and monitor every stage of the process. From soil health to fermentation, data helps us understand how our coffee behaves and guides conscious decisions, always respecting the rhythms of nature.

  • Ancestral Wisdom

We learn from those who worked this land before us. We integrate knowledge passed down through generations with modern tools, recognizing that experience and territorial memory are as valuable as innovation.

Common Questions

What makes VINKA different?

We grow specialty coffee as part of a living system. Through syntropic agriculture, scientific precision, and respect for ancestral knowledge, we regenerate the land while producing exceptional coffee.

Where is VINKA located?

Our farm is located in the southern Andes of Ecuador, in the Masanamaca region, next to Podocarpus National Park, one of the most biodiverse areas on the planet.

What type of coffee does VINKA produce?

We produce single-origin specialty coffee, both roasted and green. Each lot reflects our territory, process, and care. Varietals include Sidra and other high-altitude selections.

What coffee processing methods do you use?

Depending on the lot, we use natural, washed, and honey processes, plus controlled fermentations. Every process is documented and adjusted based on the coffee's behavior and climate conditions.

What is syntropic agriculture?

Syntropic agriculture mimics natural processes by integrating coffee with native trees, healthy soil, and biodiversity. The result? Land that regenerates with every harvest.

What does it mean that VINKA is a "living laboratory"?

We observe, measure, and learn from every stage of our process, soil health, plant growth, fermentation, and cup quality. Decisions are guided by data and what the land teaches us.

Is VINKA working on environmental conservation?

Yes. Conservation and ecological restoration are central to our mission. Coffee is our tool for protecting and regenerating the land.

Where can I buy VINKA coffee?

You can purchase roasted coffee directly from our online shop, and via WhatsApp. We also offer green coffee for roasters and cafés.

Do you offer samples for roasters?

Yes! Roasters can request green coffee samples before committing to a full lot. We provide complete traceability and process data with every sample.

Can I visit VINKA?

Yes! VINKA is part of Ecuador's Coffee Route (Ruta del Café). We welcome visitors for farm tours, coffee tastings, and a behind-the-scenes look at our living laboratory. Contact us to plan your visit.
